Developing effective parenting skills strengthens family dynamics and supports children's growth and independence.
Effective communication is the cornerstone of healthy relationships. I am passionate about working with parents to help them form healthy bonds, while raising their independent and empowered children. My work with children and adolescents in both public and private settings gives me a unique perspective to help parents navigate developmental challenges.
If you are a parent struggling to express your emotions, working through conflicts or seeking to improve your family connections, I am here to assist you in developing the tools and strategies for effective communication.
Below are therapy approaches that I use in my practice to accomplish effective communication with my clients:
SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is an evidence-based approach designed to help parents support children struggling with anxiety. The method focuses on empowering parents to modify their responses to their child’s anxiety in a way that fosters emotional resilience. SPACE teaches parents to provide consistent emotional support while also reducing accommodation behaviors—such as giving in to anxious demands or avoiding uncomfortable situations for the child. By focusing on reinforcing coping skills, promoting independence, and managing anxiety without enabling it, SPACE helps children develop healthier emotional responses and improve overall functioning.
Parent Talk: How to Talk to Your Children in Language That Builds Self-Esteem and Encourages Responsibility is a curriculum that teaches parents how to communicate effectively with their children in ways that foster confidence, responsibility, and emotional well-being. The class emphasizes the importance of using positive, respectful language that empowers children to take responsibility for their actions, make thoughtful decisions, and develop healthy self-esteem. It provides practical strategies for avoiding negative or critical language that can damage a child’s sense of self-worth, instead encouraging open, supportive dialogue that strengthens the parent-child relationship and promotes long-term emotional growth.
